None taken. That was what I heard, some other transfers were saying that we are last to receive. I could not tell you! I had talked to financial aid about it because I had called to get a federal loan and she had told me that out of state students receive very little…and I from everyone I talked to it seems that way. I haven’t met very other CC college kids though. But you’re completely right, I may just be talking to the wrong people. And that better be the case. I’m part of the OOS club and they do a lot of petitioning for this sort of thing. But as I said, my friend told me that once you establish a UNC GPA more scholarships open up. So that is something positive to look forward too.

That definitely seems understandable; makes sense that NC wants their tax money to go to in state students. So just out of curiosity; how much do you end up paying roughly per year? Just want to get a rough idea of what I should be expecting. My EFC is 15,000

I just went to the UNC admission blog and 12% of transfer students were carolina covenant scholars. Well there are a lot of sneaky way to cut costs. My tuition bill is somewhere around $38,000 dollars. My parents had some money saved, but that will be used up all this year. I have a work study grant and technically you can do as you please with that money but it’s going towards tuition.

I see; expensive 0_o . Well, also, if you don’t mind me asking, what was your EFC roughly? Of course, only if you don’t mind sharing :)

I don’t think UNC promises to meet 100% of the need for every student. The Carolina Covenant is only for the brightest of the lowest income. They want those bright students there, and they offer to cover 100% of their cost so they will be able to graduate debt-free. You might have most of your need met, but some of it will likely be student loans and work study. Unfortunately, there is not enough money in the NC State Treasury to cover free UNC education for every student. They will help you the best they can, but don’t count on being to attend without something coming out of your pocket, unless you are a Carolina Covenant scholar.
