transferring to usc questions

hey guys, i have a bunch of questions about transferring to usc b/c that’s my most likely option…so, here goes:

how long does it take to get 30 units of credit?

is there anyway i could transfer after 1 semester of college my freshman year?

i’m planning on going to a mainly liberal arts 4 year college. should i do that or go to another university that isn’t specifically liberal arts?

could i call the usc office of admissions now about transferring or wait?

THANKS!

on average you take 15 units a semester. So it would take you one year, you would transfer in as a sophmore. You should talk to a transfer counselor at the office of admissions and see what they think about which college you should attend for your freshman year.

FilmFanatic gave you a good estimate… but of course it will depend on the courses you will be taking. You don’t have to compete 30 units to transfer, but after you have completed 30 units, USC Admissions will then evaluate you application primarily on your college work.

The only way to transfer at the semester is if you applied for the fall and were given spring admission. You can only apply in the fall.

It depends on your major.

I would study (and pretty much memorize!) the [USC Transfer Brochure](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/0809/USC_TrnsfrBk_08v2.pdf) before making any calls.
