Transferring to UT from Umich

I am currently a freshman at Umich, but I am profoundly regretting my decision to come here. I live in Texas and I keep thinking that UT would have been a more reasonable option because it’s more economical and it is very similar to umich. I came up here because Umich is high in the rankings with an especially good engineering program, but UT has a very good engineering program as well. So considering that I was auto-admit back in high school and if I keep a good Gpa here at umich, would it be possible for me to transfer over to cockrell for my sophomore year?
The two majors I am currently interested in are computer engineering and mechanical engineering.

Anyone?

@anxiety10221 your posting on the wrong sub forum this forum is for UT schools that are NOT UT Austin.
This used to be the UT Dallas subfurom but it was renamed UT Generic and merged with UT Arlington and other UT schools, you want the UT Austin subforum.

To answer your question I know the your high school has to keep a recorcd of your rank for two year after graduation but I’m pretty sure that the top 10% rule only applies to incoming freshmen not transfer students. You should apply and see what happens.
