Transferring to UVA a good option.

I currently attend Villanova university and am in the business school, but am looking to transfer. Reasons included are tuition cost, atmosphere, dull social scene at times, and sometimes I feel like I don't fit in. I am Indian and the lack of diversity is troubling. My SAT score is 1980 M-650 CR-650 W-680. ACT is 29. My GPA in high school was a 3.8. Significant upward trend junior and senior year. I also got at 4.3 senior year. I was involved in high school with sports and service. I also have work and internship experience. Currently I have good grades (As) in all my classes except a mandatory culture course (B-) in which the teacher is unfair. I have joined two business societies here and am part of the indian multicultural club, and doing club golf. If I pull off a 3.5 or above at what schools should I look at?, that may have more diversity and allow for maybe a better social life. UVA is my main option and it is in state so tuition would be awesome. Plus I would apply as a second year as pre commerce and then hope to get into McIntire.

Any advice would be appreciated

I think you would likely have a fair shot as long as you can keep your grades high. You’re not going to find diversity central at UVA, but it’s a bigger school and I think it may be easier for you to find a niche within the school’s student population.

And as far as other suggestions, I’m afraid you’ll have to hear from someone else who may be more familiar with VA schools if you are considering tuition as a possible important criteria.
