Typically how hard would you say it is to transfer to U.Va? I go to Virginia Tech, and I have an application in. I came into Virginia Tech this year as a sophomore because I had so many dual enrollment classes during high school and was in Governor's School. I took hard classes my first semester and I made the deans list with a 3.48 gpa. I had a lot of ECs from high school and did a lot of community service. My SATs were 1220. Do you think I have a chance?

I think you've got a shot, a 3.48 is probably on the lower end of what UVa's looking for but certainly gives you a shot. Same with the 1220.

i thought tech people hated uva.

no, i definitely wouldnt say that all hokies hate UVa.. I definitely dont

a lot do but i definately love uva

Gingin, you've got a good shot. If your hs records were good that increases your chances. My hs records were not good (even though I had a ton of ECs), and I wasn't admitted for transfer with a 4.0 GPA with 30 college credits. Obviously the more college credits you have the less your hs record will matter, so if your hs record was really strong and you don't have a billion college credits your chances increase. I never took the SATs so I don't know if that's a good score, but those will matter less and less with every college credit you earn. I think they say that a 3.3-3.6 GPA is what they expect from their transfers. If you're in state your chances are good.

Good luck. I don't think I can wait another month and a half to find out our decisions.

Gingin, you've probably got a good shot as long as you apply for fall admission. Otherwise, you'd probably be rejected (like Silence Dogood), as spring transfer admissions can be quite difficult.
