I've started my first quarter here at UWB and while it has its advantages and disadvantages, I have been mostly unhappy so far. I have been rejected from UWS for this quarter and went with Bothell because of it. Long story short, I've been meaning to transfer at some point to UWS and I'd like some input from anyone who has ever been through the same process (transferring from a secondary UW campus to the main one).

First of all, which quarter should I apply for? If I apply for Autumn quarter, I'll only be using my grades from the first quarter. Would that be fine? Or should I apply for Winter quarter?

Secondly, on the transfer application, one of the personal statements require me to state the specific reasons why I would want to leave my University/College. Should I be honest here? While I have been quite unhappy on some aspects of UWB but I don't want to come across as insulting the University of Washington institute.

Finally, what are the chances for a transfer student from UWB. My predicted UW GPA will be in the higher 3.9-4.0. Will they accept that, or do I have practically no chance?

This thread is really just to inform myself, because I haven't been able to find a straight answer anywhere else.

It’s much easier from a community college. As far as UW (Seattle) is concerned, you transferring from UW Bothell is like transferring from any other four-year college.

all i know is… i have a friend who applied for uw-seattle and didn’t get in, so he went to uw-bothell. he applied to uw-seattle 4 times since being at bothell and continually got rejected. (he doesn’t know why)

And the kicker is, he’s been taking classes at uw-seattle (maxed out on his limit recently) and got accepted in to the uw-seattle only major he had applied to. But since he didn’t get into uw-seattle, and has maxed out on the # of credits he can take at uw-seattle…he’s had to change his major and finish things out at bothell. His GPA was around 3.8

@Pain these are really recent changes. The University doesn’t have slots for in-state college transfers, only CC. UBothell is a different insitution than USeattle.

Nothing wrong with CC, go to UBothell for a year then transfer to Bellevue College for a quarter and you should be in after that.
