<p>Hi everyone,</p>
<p>I'm a freshman right now applying to transfer to Vandy. My first semester, I took an acting course and hated it. I withdrew from the course the day I took the midterm, which I only stuck around for because I didn't want to screw over my scene partner. I was happy with withdrawing at the time because I came into my current school with 25 credits. his was all, however, before I decided I wanted to transfer to a top 20 school. Now, I'm extremely nervous that my withdrawing from a course that has nothing to do with my major (economics) will ruin my chances of acceptance.</p>
<p>My GPA + midterm reports is very good despite the W, but is that fact that "I hated the course and had extra credits and withdrew before considering transferring" such an invalid explanation for a W that it's not even worth explaining in the application. </p>
<p>TL;DR: Will a W in an acting elective have a strong negative effect on my chances?</p>
