Transferring to Yale

I was admitted into Columbia for fall, but I kinda wish I was going to Yale. I didn't apply, and was wondering what might make Yale a better fit than Columbia, in regards to variety of courses, campus life, and graduate opportunities (both academically and career-wise).

Why don’t you give Columbia a chance? Go there. Check it out. Get some actual EXPERIENCE there, first. Determine, at THAT point, whether it is meeting your needs. If, after some actual experience as a Columbia student, you find that Columbia simply is not meeting your educational, intellectual, social, and personal needs, by all means, THEN initiate the transfer process to Yale. “Kinda wish I was going to Yale” seems not to be a compelling reason for automatically assuming that your Columbia experience will be inadequate. Not dissing Yale. Am suggesting a more CONSIDERED approach. “Buyer’s remorse” is not unusual, at all! But you really should give your school a small chance, at least, before you pull the plug on it.
