I'm a transfer who's already at my new school. I went from a big state school to a smaller private school. However, I am now realizing that my current school is really not working out for me. I'm a criminal justice majors who intends to go into some kind of investigative work. The program at my school is a very good, but is preparing students more for law school and politics. Obviously, I could not have determined that without coming to this college and taking classes. Would transferring a second time reflect negatively on my when applying for jobs, internships, etc.?

Thanks for the reply but I really don’t see what you’re trying to say. I’m not as concerned about the new school working out as I am with what future employers and what not will think when they see I’ve transferred twice.

Oh, I mean that if you interview for a job, the interviewer will look at your record. Transfer too many times will show that you have tendency of moving.
If I was the interviewer, I would not like to hire someone who may stay only 1 or two years.

I’ve given both schools a year. If I were to stay another year at my current school I wouldn’t be able to transfer after my junior year. Or at least there wouldn’t be a point.

I had 3 highschool. 2 in C.A and 1 in M.A
I sent applications to many colleges and I wasnt accepted. After that, I came to the admission office of closest school to ask. That person was very nice. She told me that simply she saw that I jumped to too many hs that she was not even sure if I was gonna stay 4 years in the college. So she gave other people the spot. It is just an opinion but It think it is worth considering.

About transferring, I encourage you to do so cuz Im doing so. If I can make it, I would be jumping to 5 institutions before having BA.

Yes, I’m really considering it because my current school is raising tuition next year to around $55-$60 a year and I don’t think they’re going to adjust my scholarship.

Won’t your resume just list you as having a degree from whatever university you graduate from? No need to put that you attended three colleges, just “Received BS from University of Whatever”, unless i’m very much mistaken. If you want to transfer and are able to, no reason not to… that said some schools do not want you to transfer again once you have transferred there. Make sure the school you are at permits you to transfer again.

I’ve never filled out any job applications for a serious career job, so I’ll have to take your word on that. Internships definitely require all the schools you’ve attended. I think my school allows me to transfer again. I don’t have too many credits or anything that I know of.
