What do you all think about transferring twice? I transferred from a small LAC to a big school. I'm not unhappy, but academically this school just does not do it for me. I was thinking about applying again to one of the schools I wanted to go to last year, but had gotten wait listed for. My GPA is much higher now, i have a lot of interesting activities, and all that stuff.
Do you think it's pointless? i DID get wait listed last year. this school isknown for accepting only a few transfers, so I don't think my chances are too high.

About which school are you talking?

Dartmouth College. It's always been my dream, but I am happy at my new school. So i feel sort of stupid for even questioning it. I was so unhappy last year, and this year is a lot better.... I just don't think I would have naturally picked this place, except out of desperation.

I also have Ivy aspirations. I went to a school for a medical program but found out too be too stressful, so now i'm just a normal undergraduate (at a different school) and I'm not academically challenged. I want to go to Cornell (didn't apply out of high school), but I applied to Brown ED and got deferred then rejected, and I may try there again, as my grades are higher now.

any one else have any advice?
do you think it's completely stupid of me to think about applying AGAIN?
if i do apply, do you all know if I have to send in a completely new application? Or could I just update pieces of it? I'm not really sure I could even get good reccs here... I hardly know my professors.

I'm not sure about Dartmouth, but every college I looked in to wants you to send everything all over again. Some parts will obviously be exactly the same though, but it must be a new application. I'm sure they specify at their website. I don't think it's stupid to apply since its your dream to go there, and you have a higher GPA and more interest in activities which helps. However, 34/305 admitted isnt that comforting so be prepared for the worst. You might want to consider other places as well just to be safe.

I applied to lafayette college for the second time this year but beofre i sent anything i went and did an interview. They told me that all i had to do was write them a letter saying how i would like to reactivate my application. I had to send in a few new things like a new activities reume and an updated transcript but i didnt have to pay the 60 dollar fee which was pretty nice. They also told me that applying again after ive been declined the first time around shows that im persistent and really wasnt to go there. She pretty much told me i was getting in at the interview haha.
