Has anyone on here done it? I'm talking about into and out of the top schools of the country. I'm about to be a sophomore at NYU-Stern. I'm already getting the feeling, however, that I won't like it. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Where do you want to go this time?

I don't know for sure as of yet. I'm considering Duke, Pomona, Swarthmore, Columbia, USC, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Georgetown. HELP!

Stick it out for a semester, if you don't like it, then transfer.

I'll be a commuter student...no housing offered...and I still can't afford it. I'll hate it.

Could anyone post their stats/profile who've completed the process either successfully or not?

I have to wonder, and by no means is it really any jab at you, but why did you try for NYU Stern if you couldn't afford it? That was one of the biggest reasons I wasn't too disappointed about my professor not sending in my recommendation for Stern.

NYU was close by, it wasn't much of a change from where I went to school before. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

If you have financial concerns, consider enrolling at a CC. Rather than waste money at a school you don't want to be at, you might as well save money at a school you don't want to be at. There's no point in going to NYU over a CC if you're not going to be happy at NYU, and you have to commute to either place.

Sleep in the library until they find out. Then you get a free ride. Heard of a story along the lines of that.

Loans and such won't be able to help? (I'm not too familiar with FINAID at the moment)

Stern is one of the best undergrad business colleges. If you ask me, it's a damn shame that you would give it up. All the colleges you've mentioned above are below Stern (ranking wise).

So you've already transferred into Stern and what to transfer right back out? I'm sure if you send that out to a college, they'll think its one of the fishiest things ever. I probably am wrong, but still...

Very uncommon for two transfers as well.

Think you can just stick to Stern? Otherwise give me your spot :)

If cost is an issue, you should stay at Baruch and transfer for the spring or fall.

After getting my tuition bill and being put in the most expensive apt., I am weighing the costs with my $16k at Rutgers-NB.

BobstBoy! Yeah, I don't think sleeping in the library will work anymore haha.

bump......

Just dropping in to say hello.

I feel you on the financial and housing situation. I am a Stern transfer and life already looks icey for me. We will get through it, no need to worry. Just imagine the places we could go with a Stern degree! Three years of (potential) hardship will surely be returned with a more financially sound future.

lol why does everyone say that? going there does not equate to automatic success in the future.
