Transferring Umass Amherst

OK so i currently go to Umass Boston and have decided that I want to transfer to Umass Amherst, because i want to pursue a degree in sports marketing at their business school of Isenberg. What are my chances of getting in? my GPA is 2.8, but i know it will be above 3.0 all the classes i am taking now i have two B's and two A's. This is my second year at umass boston so i am planning to transfer next fall.

I’m transferring to Umass Amherst for the fall of 2014. I currently attend SUNY Albany as a freshman and have a 3.67 GPA for my first semester. I will have finished 30 credits by the end of the year. I’m the founder and president of a club here, and I’m involved in other clubs as well. Can you please let me know what you think my chances are?

i think u have better chance then me lol. What are you trying to major in?

Thanks, I think you have a good shot as long as you improve and getting you GPA up and also try joining some clubs. I’m applying as a computer science major. What about you? Have you submitted your application yet? Or where are you in the process?

you have good chances! good luck

i want to do sports marketing, and i have not started yet but i am about to by trying to get some volunteer work during the break and start contacting admission office. like you said improve my gpa. I just come to realize that the required gpa to transfer is 2.5 for me since i am already in the umass school system. Have you visited the campus yet?

I’ve visited the campus a couple of times and really like it. Do you know how many letters of recommendation are required? We should keep each other posted throughout the application process. Do

Sorry i don’t know how many letters of recommendations you would need, and yea definitely keep each other posted with the process. I really do like the campus as well, everybody i’ve met is really nice and enjoy their time there, and almost are there programs are ranked pretty well.

Yeah, I can’t agree more. Do you know if SAT scores are required?

im not to sure about that, but i believe if you have more then 27 credit then its not required you should double check just in case.

I am not sure myself. But I would certainly double check!
