Okay so I have been at the local CC where I live. Last time I took classes were Spring '10. I took 3 classes and had alot going on and pretty much had to stop coming to classes (alot of personal issues plus my car broke down). So I failed all 3 classes. So I am finally going back this fall and retaking these classes. My adviser said that my new grade would replace the old grade on my transcript. But I plan on transferring to a four year school, living on campus (mostly so I don't have to work full time...that's alot of why I had to take 2 years off school). So while I'm retaking these classes and apply at the new school will it show my grades in these classes on my transcript? Or should I make a side note on the application for the new college what my grades are so they just don't see the failing grades? Or should I just stay at the CC another semester and transfer next fall?

Since you haven’t taken a class since 2010, I really don’t see as how they can count 2 year old courses against you or why you would even have to send a transcript with courses you took 2 years ago.

And during which semester do you plan on transferring.? If spring 2013, the school will most likely want your high school transcript and sat scores and then when the fall semester is over, just have your CC send over your transcripts immediately.

But if I were you, I would just stay at the CC and transfer next fall, you’ll have way more time to figure out what you really want to do and you’ll have alot more time to get things situated. Why not even take courses during the intermission and over the summer to get ahead since you’ve been gone for a while.

WallyxD, you’re supposed to send all prior transcripts to the college you plan on attending. Failure to do so can result in you being stripped of your degree, even after you’ve graduated.

ans1989, you’ll want to doublecheck with your school that retaking the classes will in fact remove the old grades from your transcript, so you don’t get an unfortunate surprise later. If the grades won’t be removed, you can’t conceal them, or what I mentioned to WallyxD above might happen to you, and none of us want you to work hard for several years for nothing.
