I’m an international student and I’m currently enrolled in community college in California. My plans was not to transfer so I wasted almost a full year of taking only random classes that I found interesting (plan was to go home afterwards). I ended up staying for another year and picked communication as my major. I can’t stay another semester to finish more units (too pricey as there is hard to get any scholarships for international community college students). I am going towards an associate degree (without UC transfer). However this degree only consists of 30 units (I believe). I know that I can’t apply to any UC universities, but is it possible to transfer out of state? Or private universities in California? With only 30 units, or is that still not enough?
(And the plan is to go home for 6 months to get some more money, apply to universities and then apply for scholarships/financial aid if admitted).
I’m talking with a counselor in a couple of weeks to look over my classes, but I’m just wondering now if I have no chance at all to transfer? Could my film classes that it took for fun make up/help with my communication classes + English and math class?
