Transferring with more than 60 hours but no AA (Engineering)

I posted this under the Transfers section but I figured I might have a better shot at an answer here. I'm at VCC in Orlando right now starting my sophomore year, currently have a 3.81 GPA and i'm pre-majoring in Civil Engineering. I plan to transfer to Sante Fe in either Spring or Summer 2011 to hopeflly better my chances of getting into UF. Heres my dilemma though, I'd like to enroll in Fall 2011 at UF but I will yet to have completed my AA. If everything goes as planned, i'll have 71 hours but will still need Dynamics, Statics, and Stat for Engineers (will have all my chem, physics and calc/DE completed by summer).

Basically, will UF even consider my application if I don't have my AA, but have more than enough hours and other major pre-reqs? If so, what may my chances be?

I believe I might be able to switch my major to general engineering just to attain the AA which doesn't require any engineering specific courses, but I'm afraid it could interfere with scholarships/fin aid.

just change it to general if you’ll have the requirements for that because they may have a condition of admission for you to be awarded your AA… of the handful of CC transfer engineers I know, they all took those 3 courses after they transferred anyway…
