I am planning on transferring from a CCC to SDSU/Fullerton/Northridge for Fall 2012. However, while I will have at least 60 units with a 4.0 GPA, I will probably not have finished all of my Business major prep, and maybe one GE class, by the end of Spring/Summer. Most likely, I'll have one or two more classes to take. The schools seem to stress completing all major prep is important. Would it be best to apply for Fall 2012 and hope they are lenient, or stay another year and finish up? Thanks in advance. :)

Bump - Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It’s true that completing your major pre reqs are important in order to transfer. The best thing you can do is try calling the admission office and ask. But if you are that close why not take another semester at your cc and be ge certified and eligible for an AA/AS degree then transfer during the spring quarter/semester?

I’m not entirely sure the schools are accepting Spring transfers (SDSU didn’t for Sp12). Also, I will probably get my AA since it doesn’t require all the classes in the schools’ major prep.

Especially at impacted colleges it’s a very good idea to have as much of your major prep done as possible. That said I’ve always been told it isn’t required. Keep in mind the classes you need might be difficult to get into, so you might be adding an extra year to your education regardless.

I went ahead and decided to spend that extra year at my CC, but if you apply and get accepted, go for it. :-)
