Transferring

Hello, I am a Californian high school senior. I was planning to attend college out of state, so I didn't apply to any UCs or privates in California. However, I did apply to one Cal State as an afterthought. I got into my top choice schools out of state, but my dad has recently became very ill and I don't want to leave him. So, I was considering going to CSU Eastbay for a year, and applying to UC Irvine. Will this be hard to do? Thank you in advance for your help.

Sidenote* With my SAT scores and high school transcripts I am very confident that I could've gotten in had I applied straight from high school.

That’s a question better posed to the admissions people at Irvine. It can be tough to transfer from a CSU to a UC… the transfer route is really meant for community college students, not as much CSU.

^ I agree with Kathliamom. I would consider a CC or a gap year.
