Transferring

I was wondering if I were to attend 3 colleges in a span of 4 years would that affect my chances of getting into an elite medical school like, Harvard or Johns Hopkins.

Multiple transfers don’t look good and may raise questions about your critical decision-making skills, personal maturity and ability to persist in the face of difficulty.

Plus, according to a AAMC study, multiple transfers are associated with a lower overall chance of gaining a medical school admission as well as lower GPAs and MCAT scores.

Attending multiple schools will put you at a disadvantage when it comes to med school admission. Multiple transfers makes it more difficult to develop relationship with professors from whom you’ll need strong letters of recommendation. Attending multiple schools makes it more difficult to find research opportunities, gain leadership positions in organizations, or engage in long-term community service or clinical volunteering–all of which are needed for a successful medical school application.

TL; DR: Yes

What if I were to transfer into a more “prestiges” university both times

One transfer to a more prestigious college might not hurt you. More than one will.

And if your grades drop for any reason after a transfer–Congratulations! You’ve just shot yourself in the foot!
