Transferring

I will be attending American University as a a upcoming freshmen this August, but would like to transfer to one of the best business schools in the nation. (Wharton is the dream, Berkeley, McDonough, Scheller are some of the schools I am interested in) anybody with any recommendations/ experience in transferring into such programs, please let me
Know what you have to say

You’re almost certainly going to need a 4.0 (or very close to it), and stellar EC’s to transfer to those programs. Luckily American has pretty severe grade inflation so it shouldn’t be too difficult to get the grades if you put in the work. I know from acceptances as transfers to McCombs though that you pretty much need a 3.9+ to even have your application looked at. Just realize, the odds of you transferring to these schools, even with stellar stats, are pretty low, so you’re probably going to have to have accomplished something pretty significant in terms of EC’s to get into a place like Wharton.

If you try and transfer after your freshman year some of these school may require you to submit your high school transcript and SAT/ACT scores.

Also if you make it known to your American U. classmates that their school isn’t good enough it will be difficult to make friends.
