Okay. So I applied last year ED, was deferred, then rejected but with a two-year guaranteed transfer meaning I will go junior year. I am currently a freshman at Dickinson College. I am going to apply to transfer for next year because, while I like Dickinson, it really doesn't have the academic programs that I want--- I'm pre-vet. Anyway, does anybody think I have a chance of getting in because I'm sort of already in for junior year?

You are fine, if you met the requirement for the guaranteed transfer there's really no reason why Cornell will reject you again.

hey man, what exactly do you mean by the two-year guarenteed transfer?

Besides the usual accepted/WL/rejected, you also have guaranteed transfer for either sophomore or junior year.

Which means that they expect you to go to another school and, if you maintain at least a 3.0 at the college you'll go to in the mean time, you can basically matriculate at cornell in 1 or 2 years; you'll be class of 2009, but as a transfer student.

yeah... the 2 year transfer is basically what transferkid said above. it kind of sucks because it's like they don't want you until other ppl drop out... but i figure i'll still graduate with a cornell degree so its worth it. besides, either way i'll get there... soph or junior year.

isn't that a bit bittersweet? you can go, but only after two years...
