Transferring

Hi I'm a freshman at Vanderbilt and I'm considering trying to transfer to Dartmouth. I've heard very mixed things about whether it's easier or harder to get in as a transfer student. I'm from the Northeast and I wanted to get away so I thought Vanderbilt would be a good fit but now I'm not so sure. Anyway, I got a 2310 on the SATs and it's difficult to say but as of now I'll probably have around a B average at Vandy. I'm currently taking Chemistry with a lab, Accelerated Calculus, Chinese and a Freshman Writing Seminar. What do you think my chances are of getting admitted? Thank-you for your time.

Wish you luck, Vandyfresh. Usually a minimum of a 3.5 is expected of transfer students to be considered competitive. Your SAT's are high, which is good, but I am not sure how you'll do with a B average. Everyone I know that was admitted last year had at least a 3.7

I had heard something like that but I'm in pretty hard classes and Vanderbilt is kind of known for grade deflation so I would hope that would count for something.
