@arci2015 Based on your current GPA. you probably are not eligible to transfer directly into the Cox School of Business.
Current SMU students are required to have a 3.3 over all college GPA and a 3.3 GPA within the business core required courses before they are admitted to Cox.
You are above the minimum college GPA for college transfers per the SMU website:
The Admission Committee will focus on your college coursework and transferable GPA for admission. The Committee finds that students with a 2.7 transferable GPA or higher are the most competitive for admission. In the admission process for transfer students, we evaluate both the rigor of the college courses you’ve taken and the readiness for your intended major. We recommend taking all or some of the prerequisite courses for your intended major before transferring to SMU.
This is take directly from the SMU website:
Requirements for Admission to Cox as a Transfer Student:
Admission to SMU with a minimum 39 transferable academic hours and 3.30 transfer GPA, and
A minimum GPA of 3.30 in the business subset. The business subset consists of the first grade earned in the following six courses or their transfer equivalents:
- English (DISC 1312/ENGL 1302)
- Micro Economics (ECO 1311)
- Macro Economics (ECO 1312)
- Business Calculus (Math 1309 or 1337)
- Fundamentals of Accounting I (ACCT 2301)
- Business Statistics (STAT 2301 or STAT 2331)
Best of luck.
