I've been searching for the link to complete this assignment, however it doesn't seem to be anywhere. I haven't come across it on the orientation website or the portal.

The due date is approaching and one email stated that the assignment was made available yesterday.

PRIOR to Orientation:
Complete On-line Pre-Orientation Assignment by July 10

Yeah I was freaking out about that too! But I think it is only for incoming freshmen not transfers. I haven’t seen anything on myucsc or received any email saying that I must complete it so I figured that it didn’t apply to transfers. I could be wrong though haha.

Yeah I wasn’t able to see the link you posted but I did receive the orientation confirmation email and I still couldn’t find anything on there about the pre-orientationa assignment so I decided to email the ucsc orientation office. Hopefully they will reply back before july 10th if we indeed do need to complete it.

Sounds good. Don’t hesitate to post when you receive an update.

I never received a message about this either. On the orientation confirmation pdf it says: “Complete the online orientation prior to your orientation day.” but it doesn’t mention anything else about it.

I just realized that the pre-orientation assignment due by July 10th was for frosh. Even so, where is the online orientation for transfers to complete?

[online orientation assignment ucsc transfers - Google Search](<a href=“online orientation assignment ucsc transfers - Google Search”>online orientation assignment ucsc transfers - Google Search)

It’s the first link. I can’t figure out how to delete my last post, as I am posting from my phone. However, the pdf does state that transfers need to compete this assignment by July 10th.

It seems near impossible to get ahold of someone at ucsc to verify this. It is understandable that they are busy this time of year however, I anticpate this trend will continue once we all arrive. I tried planning my course schedule yesterday and realized there only two undergrad psych courses with open seats for the fall. It seems as transfers we’re given limited options as far as the courses we’ll be able to take this quarter. Sonuvabeetch…

Well some ‘closed’ courses will be re-opened during orientation, so we’re not completely screwed on getting any classes.

As far as the assignment thing I really don’t think it’s for transfers.

Ok so I just heard back from the orientation office and this is what they said:

Hello,

Yes, all students should complete the pre-orientation assignment. The assignment is really helpful and will provide you with detailed information regarding the various resources on campus, how to enroll in classes, how to use passwords and many more.

Congratulations and see you at Orientation.

I still don’t know where we are suppose to access this “pre-orientation assignment” though. It’s due tomorrow right?

Yes, it’s due tomorrow. I’m still not sure what they meant by the assignment either. My best guess is that the “assignment” is simply to become familiar with the advising and course registration system. That still doesn’t make sense being that there was an assignmed due date though.

Sent from my DROID3 using CC

Well the email said it will help “with detailed information regarding the various resources on campus, how to enroll in classes, how to use passwords and many more.”

This is all information we have had the ability to figure out using much of the previous info UCSC has sent us.

Glad to see others are in the same boat I am. Is there really no other information about this assignment?

I just got an email about doing the pre-orientation assignment so maybe they sent it to all of you guys too!
