Transfers peeps

Hey transfer students sound off!

If you are a transfer please let me know you are out there!

I am a transfer out of NVCC and am using the Guaranteed admission to go to JMU.
I wish we had our decision already but im pretty confident ill get in seeing as it is guaranteed.

How many other transfers are out there?
How do you feel about not getting an email and waiting for the letter in the mail?

I am a transfer student too from MD applying for CIS in the Business Department. I read last years posts on here and found out that the transfers were getting their decisions in the mail so I wasn’t really surprised. It would be nice to know right now though like some of the RD freshman applicants. I think they are sending out the decisions today and they should arrive anytime between now and next week on Wednesday.

Im hoping they will get here by Friday or Sat, doing a quick usps test shows that it could get to me in NoVa in 2 days. Granted i am 1.5 hours away.
I wish i could do CIS but i dont have the business classes to graduate in 2 years.

Quick update: I called JMU and the admission department said that transfer letters wouldnt go out until mid-April! I dont know if thats true or she just said that because thats what she is told to say, but i dont know why she would lie if they were being sent out today…

Yeah yours will def be there by Sat i think, but maybe a little longer for me since im out of state. I was a Comp Eng major before I switched my first yr in college. I had interest in both CS and Business so CIS/MIS seemed perfect for me. Are we the only transfers on here?

Oh man lol I hope we dont have to wait till mid-April. I was emailed a while back and told that I will recieve decision during the “last week of March” so I dont even know anymore.

i’m a transfer applicant too and i’m still waiting for an admissions decision. i called the admissions office yesterday and they told me that the letters would be sent out in mid-april too. I’m thinking this is just what the people on the phone are told to say. the decisions usually come earlier based on my past experiences.

@avabumpin
But if you call and ask about RD for freshman they tell you they are being sent out asap.
Why would they tell the truth about freshman send out days but different info for transfers, unless it is true?
Man i just need a yes/no!

@charliet
have you talked to anyone about your major? Its VERY hard to get into the business program as a junior without anything but a Business associates degree.

like i said in another post, i’ve applied to transfer to jmu before and i received the letter in the mail around march 25th or 26th so i’m thinking we should be getting decisions this week.

evm2556, i dont think you really have anything to worry about anyways. you’re in a guaranteed admissions agreement so i wouldn’t sweat it.

I havent talked to anyone in particular but I know know how hard it is especially for an out of state student. I go into UMD-CP’s MIS program so im not really stressed out but i would love to have more choices before I decide.

ic ic

Well, it seems everyone is calm… man im so anxious.

I applied as a transfer as well. I hope we hear back soon! I never got an e-mail saying it’d be last week of March so I’m guessing maybe late next week.

HAHA…Welp I’m sittin here in VA stressin about when am I going to find out the decision from JMU, when apparently all I needed to do was come on here. Good to see other people are havin the same issue as me.

Gonna be checking the mail as soon as i see the mail man…
Cross your fingers.

Yah man, that’s all that’s left to do at this point

nothing…
so mad.

I’m a transfer as well. My biggest worry is that the letter/packet is going to go to my permanent address, which is where my parents live. UGH. If I have to wait another few days because of that I’m going to be so irritated.

Is your parents house further away? If its not cant you just tell them to tell you what it is. If its an envelope with one piece of paper then… gulp not so good.

Yeah, they live three hours away. I don’t want them to tell me anything! I wish JMU posted transfer decisions online.

Got my mail today…Nothin

I’m certain they are not coming till mid April.

Hey guys, I applied to transfer to JMU as well except I’m attending VCU right now.

Just as anxious as you all on getting a letter!
