post whether you were accepted or not and your hs gpa, college gpa and type of college, act/sat score, and any hooks or ec's and recommendations you guys had...as well as your major

I was accepted. My hs gpa was a 3.7 unweighted and a 4.1 weighted. my sat score was a 1300 my college gpa was only a 3.4 and I went to school at UMiami. My major is political science with a pre-law track. i dont have incredible ec's or recommendations. I'm pretty sure my essays got me in to every school that i was accepted at. including emory.

I was accepted. ok my HS GPA was around 3.6 and my ACT was a 27. I had GREAT HS EC's and decent college EC's. College GPA was 3.85 but it was at a really small, non-prestigious LAC. Hooks- my college is the only other school named for Emory and was founded in the same year, etc. I guess that souds dumb as a hook but it does seems like the schools are in some ways related. I also had a professor that was an Emory alum. Id say my essays helped me but not much

I haven't heard back yet, as I just sent in my Spring grades. My HS GPA was a 3.62, my SAT was v-620 w-640 m-560. My college GPA was a 3.8, with 34 hours, at a North Carolina University. Any thoughts?

Sounds exactly like me. Probably will depend on your EC's, essays, and the amount of interest you showed in the school. Good luck

Sounds good, thanks.

I haven't heard back yet, I am going to be a sophomore. These are my stats:

College: Tulane University
College GPA: 3.8
SAT scores: 2200 overall, 780 writing, 770 reading, 650 math
HS GPA: 3.6, rank: top 25%

I think I have a decent chance but my main concern is that I said in the application that my main academic interests were business and history, but the Goizueta business school is very competitive. Will it completely destroy my application because I put business as a possible major?

No, I'm pretty sure you cannot enter Goizueta until your junior year or if I'm wrong, I'm pretty sure that they will put you in College of General Studies if you're turned down for Goizueta

Best of luck too. I think you should be a shoe-in, :), knock on wood. You have shown Emory that you can handle yourself well in college with your 3.8 GPA and you're high school and SAT should be meaningless as a transfer. Emory tends to take 3.5 and higher for transfer from what I have heard. And Emory knows that Tulane is a top private university, only a tier below them, so they will be really impressed.
