<p>This is what it says on SOLAR:
"Thank you for applying to Stony Brook University. We have received a record number of applications for the spring semester.We have sent out the first round of decisions, which we anticipate will fill our class. </p>

<p>In the event that space should become available, qualified applicants will be notified of their admission on or about December 15th.
We ask that you please not call or e-mail our office regarding your application during this busy time. We will let you know an admission decision shortly after December 15."</p>

<p>So, let's says I don't get in for Spring semester, will I be deferred for the Fall semester or do I have to re-apply for the Fall? What's the procedure? </p>

<p>We don't know what the procedure is for fall yet... whether you'll be able to request an update of your application, or if you will be asked to reapply. More information will probably come after December 15.</p>
