heyy guys... i was just wondering... what are the chances of being accepted as a transfer student to harvard?

i feel that my senior grades are horrible and i pretty much have no chance right now, but harvard's always been my dream school

soooo i was thinking of just going somewhere for first semester and then applying as a transfer student to harvard? is that possible?

http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/prospective/transfer/eligibility/index.html

If you apply at semester, you'll have to do so as a freshman and won't be able to bring in any credits from that semester.

You must have completed one year but not more than two years of college credits to be admitted as a transfer.

And most schools--not sure about Harvard--will also look at your high school credentials if you have less than two years of college work.

It is harder to transfer to Harvard than to be admitted as a h.s. senior. Most Harvard students graduate from Harvard in 4 years, which means there isn't much space for transfers.

Does anyone know how much weight hs grades count vs college for rising freshmen?

Well they probably factor in what college you went to as well...if you transfer from the local CC with a 4.0 and someone else transfers from NYU with a 4.0 and everything else is equal, guess who will get in?

And 75 out of over 1000 applicants got in last year.

I feel like I'm being more negative than helpful. But that's not my intentions, just letting you know what to maybe expect.
