Transfers - UW Status

Oh and I’m pretty sure it’s one day. The freshmen orientation is two but they have much bigger groups and more freshmen advising and information to cover the first day than we do. But that’s cool Ill have my orientation from someone here :)

ehhhh im freakin out because i still havent registered for my session because i cant find my measles immunization form and thats required right? O___o Does anyone know whens the latest time I can register?

Haha I’m glad I will sorta know someone too. I applied as a business major. Wonder if that has an effect on anything.

You can register for orientation before your immunization form is processed. You can print off another copy of that online though if you lost yours.

the earliest date they offered me was july 28th (because i indicated i was a biology major)
but i signed up for august 4th since i have an important organic chem exam the 29th

my friend that is applying for the pysch major is doing it july 21st

ohh ok thanks! I got it now. It wont let me register for a A&O session so I emailed them about it. I hope I get some good classes. I wonder if anyone else has heard back.

hey guys, I have no idea if I got in or not. My status changed as “We have reviewed your application. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made.” Nothing else. Can anyone tell me that if I am in or not?

Clair- from what i’ve picked up now that your status has changed to that you should see if your unofficial transcript will load and if it does you are in.

uuuuuwwwww- have you paid for your NSEOF thing yet and has it been processed? You can’t sign up before that…

well…it finally changed to we have reviewed…and the official transcripts did NOT load…so I guess I’m not in??

Kinda sucks, but I’m already enrolled at U of Oregon so whatever…but still…I wonder why though…

I know I’m an international transfer, but I’ve attended a U.S. school for the last two years, have a 4.0, and was second in my high school class…I didn’t ace my sat’s but they didn’t suck at all. I really thought I was a shoe in…huh…oh well…whatever…

@nicolles- wow those are really good scores im really surprised that you didnt get accepted. If you lived instate you for sure would have gotten in. I think it’s really just because you are a international student…its quite competitive.

@BeckyP- yeah i turned it in the system had to take about 48 hours to let me in. I’m successfully signed up for A&O sessh now! :)

Hi BeckyP, I still keep the same status without unofficial transcript being loaded. I guess I am not it. Feel bad. By the way, thanks for your help.

i haven’t gotten a rejection but my status changed to “we have reviewed…” and my unofficial transcript hasn’t loaded for about a week now. I guess I’m not in. and now, the front page of my MyUW page, under “Undergraduate Admissions Application” shows “the content is not available at this time”. I’M BEING ERASED FROM THE SYSTEM! D:

sigh. I’m an international applicant applying for transfer from Seattle U with 48 credits, 3.938 GPA, A levels, and 2110 SATs. i thought i was a shoe-in but i guess not!

do you think i should try to transfer again for winter quarter?

@agnstalodz…dude…sorry about that. I’m in the same boat you are…read my post above…i even used the same wording (hehe)…so yeah, who knows. I just gave up on UW and accepted another offer. Maybe you can do the same. I’m assuming you applied elsewhere…

@nicolles yeah i read… your stats are really great too. i’m currently studying at Seattle U which is just across the lake from UW. it’s a nice school too but it just doesn’t have the reputation that UW has. Plus, UW is public so i can save some cash there. oh well!

assuming i get a 4.0 for my next quarter, should i still try to re-apply? does anyone know what my chances are for applying to transfer a second time? are they likely to favour me for my determination? or will i be disadvantaged since i didn’t make the cut the first time? if anyone has anything to contribute, that’d be great!

^^ I think you should try again. I suspect the reason you got rejected was mainly due to the number of credits you have. I mean, you barely qualify as a sophomore transfer and normally they prefer juniors…so definitely try again next semester! You can also call and try to find out why you got denied. I know in california they HAVE to give you a solid reason cause it’s a public institution…maybe UW is the same way! It’s worth a shot!

well, i do have an A level cert which would amount to 45 to 60 credits! and that would put me in junior standing! sigh but thanks for the advice, I’ll call them! are you going to stay put in U of oregon?

I don’t know how many people who have already been accepted still look at this thread, but I’ll give my question a shot.

Do we have to send in a final transcript? I’ve looked through all my paperwork and so far all I know is that I have to bring a copy of an official or an unofficial transcript to registration. If any transfers have already registered, do they tell you there to make sure to send one in?

It’s just kind of a hassle for me to get down to my cc to have one sent so I’m wondering if it’ll be worth the effort or if UW doesn’t even need it.

Yes you do.

@agnstalodz…hmmm, I have no clue how stuff transfers from england (that’s where you’re from right?)…so I dunno. But yeah, I’m staying put at the U of O. Considering I started at a community college it’s a HUGE step in the right direction…i really can’t complain…too much…Good Luck!
