Anyone else here apply as a transfer for fall 2011? I can't wait until the end of May...

Guess not!?

… apparently not. But, good luck! Hope you’re not waiting too much longer!

Haha, thank you! I hear back in mid-May. I’m sure there are other transfers out there…perhaps just not partaking in forum activity.

seem to be running into you everywhere, transfer! I’m waiting too. Did you visit the campus?

Ha! Guess we share a love of women’s colleges! Yes, I did visit. How about you?

Guess we do! I did, during March. What did you think of it? It looked really empty when I went… it was sort of eerie. Might’ve just been the time of day though.

I went during March, too! So funny. They were on break when I visited, hence the lack of students on campus.

Is Scripps your top choice? What class year are you, btw?

that is funny, we almost ran into each other in real life aside from cc! But I know when I went they weren’t on break because I saw some classes going on, guess there’s not a lot of people around regularly then. It was so quiet!

I don’t really have a top choice, all the schools I applied to have pros and cons that weigh out pretty evenly… how about you? I’m a sophomore right now, but with how my credits transfer I’ll half to retake at least a semester. You?

I know you got into MoHo too, and I found MoHo to be much quieter than Scripps, actually. I LOOOOVE Scripps. Praying for acceptance. Do you know what date they’re letting us know?

I’d be transferring in as a sophomore, if my credits work out correctly (I’m a freshman right now).

I’m waiting to hear back from Scripps as well! I’m a freshman trying to transfer in sophomore year.

Really?! I thought there were lots more people around at MoHo and it seemed livelier! All I know is mid-may, I wish they’d spell it out! Is this your first choice then?

Scripps is definitely tied for my #1 spot. I’m in love with it. How about you?

the more I think about it the more I like it, but you’ve probably noticed by now that I found the quiet a little unnerving!

Indeed! AGH I want a decision already!

I also applied for Fall Transfer.

My college story is a long and twisted one. Scripps and Wellesley were tied for my first choice last year when I applied as an incoming first-year, and I chose Wellesley. Long story short, Wellesley didn’t work out and I left after only about 6 weeks there. I have spent the spring semester at my local CC and am crossing my fingers that Scripps will accept me again! I’m checking my mailbox obsessively!

Still don’t know if I’m ready to zoom away to college again, but I need to see what the college’s responses are first, anyway.

mind if I ask why Wellesley didn’t work out any why you think Scripps is better? I’m dealing with the same problem myself, even though I don’t know if I’ve gotten into either school!

Nothing against OrigamiQueen personally, as I don’t even know her, but it really bothers me when people just apply to schools either 1) to see if they’ll get in or 2) just to add another school to their list, while not even really caring about said school. I especially hate it when those applicants have higher stats than I do and will therefore be more seriously considered. I actually LOVE Wellesley and Scripps and am incredibly passionate about attending either one.

I agree with Transfer014. It bothers me when people just apply to a school just to apply with no intentions of attending. That person could potentially take the spot for someone who’s first choice is that school.

Wellesley didn’t work out because once I got there I wasn’t spiritually comfortable with the atmosphere of the school. It really is a great school, but unfortunately it took me flying across the country and spending thousands of dollars to realize it wasn’t the school for me. It wasn’t an easy decision, and I still have regrets sometimes. If you want to know more, I’d be happy to talk about it so just PM me.

Re: adding colleges to my list. I don’t know where you got the feeling that I am just trying to see where I’ll get in… As a transfer student I’m only applying to two colleges: Scripps and Humboldt State. Last year when I applied as a first-year to Wellesley and Scripps (among other “safety schools”), I was very passionate/serious/conflicted about attending either of them, and in the end it came down to the fact that Wellesley is more prestigious.

As far as the admissions process go, it’s kind of a free-for-all, ladies. If your application stands on its own merit, you shouldn’t have to worry about someone “taking your spot.” (This coming from the staunch libertarian…)
