Hey all--

Is anyone here looking to transfer to Swarthmore for fall of 2008, or are there any current Swatties who came in as transfers?

I've been utterly obsessed with Swarthmore for about eight months now and would love to meet others of my kind (I say that as if it's a biological classification--sometimes I could swear that it is).

At the same time that I'm nervous for all of you ED applicants, imagine being completely devoted to the school and yet unable to receive your decision until MAY. Heck, Swarthmore just posted transfer applicant materials online last week. So nerve-wracking!

There have been transfer Swatties here. As far as I can tell, they all had positive experiences and no difficulty fitting in and finding a circle of friends.

thanks for your input. i'm not so much concerned as to whether or not i make friends (i haven't made friends at my current school but am okay with it really; however, i can tell from the swatties i've met that i'd easily make friends there). i was more hoping for some sort of swat transfer applicant camaraderie or perhaps advice from people who successfully transferred to swat.

Two transfers lived on my hall last year and actually integrated themselves into the hall life perhaps (or definitely) more than the non-frosh. While it can be just as easy to get over your head as a transfer as it can be for anyone here, there aren't any exceptional problems for transfers, and, anecdotally, I've generally seen a really good trend of integration. If you come, that shouldn't be a worry. :)

If you have any specific questions about transfers, I can see if I can relate them for you?
