Transfers

What should we expect at orientation? It does cost $45 and I'm just wondering if it is worth the extra cash. Are they just going to show us around our college and sign us up for courses?

Pretty much.

$45 dollars? Man freshman orientation costs 200+ =(

do freshman also have to pay the $200 enrollment deposit? i'm sure that the transfer orientation is much shorter than the freshman orientation. i don't really know what classes to sign up for first. no one in my family has ever attended a university. so i am considering going to an orientation.

Yeah they sure take a lot of money away from us.

$50 housing app
$300 housing contract
$50 application fee
$200 enrollment deposit
$235 orientation

That's like over 800 dollars before even going to school or touching foot on campus.

i feel like that too. it's pretty much the same for transfers too except the orientation fee is much less. the deposit on my apartment was $250 + the $35 appl. fee. Hopefully I will like this apartment. There is only so much that you can tell from visiting it during the day.

Is the freshman orientation mandatory? I can understand that a lot of freshman probably don't want to spend the money on such a costly orientation.

You get to sign up for classes early. That's the only plus I really see.
