How Does Harvard Handle Transfers...that Is, Do They Heavily Weigh Hs? How Good Ofa Chance Would Someone With W/l Hs Stats And A 4.0 From A Usnwr Top 10 University Have?

Bump Bump Bump

why would you want to transfer from a top-10 school?

to have an ivy league degree

If it isn't what I think it is: Which school do you go to now?

What Do You Think It Is...

If that is your reasoning, you will undoubtedly be rejected.

Sorry To Say Eddie But You Have No Founding For That Naive Assumption

First of all, although I did not apply to Harvard as a transfer, I did go through the Elite Transfer Admissions process this past year; I probably have more founding than most people on this website when it comes to this matter.

Secondly, I was trying to make it clear to you that in order to have a shot at Harvard (or Yale, Stanford, MIT, any other Ivy) the most important factor would be a compelling reason to transfer. Transfer admissions is very different from freshman admissions in that the applicant pool, although weaker statistically, is more focused on what they want out of college and more likely to attend the school. With the higher yield, schools are able to accept fewer students for the slots, not having to overadmit or use the waitlist.

At the Ivy League schools, and other comparable Universities, the applicant pool is both statistically talented and extremely focused. Although your stats may be impressive, your competition is likely to have stats to match yours and a compelling reason to transfer.

Basically, my point was to emphasize the need for a compelling reason, and coming from a "USNWR Top 10" your reason for "upgrading" is not valid.

My suggestion is you do research as to what field you wish to pursue at Harvard, contact a professor who is doing work in that field, and make that the reason you wish to transfer to Harvard. That reason is, at the very least, much more compelling than "[I want] to have an ivy league degree."

By the way, I'm sorry if you took offense to my previous remarks... I was merely trying to prove a point.
