Anyone on here transferred to Davidson?
Do you know how many students transfer in? Since it's such a small school, I'm concerned that if I were to transfer in as a sophomore, it would be hard to meet other people (since there wouldn't be many other transfer students in my situation)
Thank you!

Last year (meaning they started at Davidson in fall '09) there were 13 new transfer students - 4 juniors, 7 sophomores, 1 senior, and 1 whose class was unspecified. I don’t know how many applied in each class. The Common Data Set might have that information
if you can find it . These numbers obviously look low. However I would strongly encourage
you to consider applying anyway if you really like the school. I am not exaggerating in the least when I state that you will not find friendlier and more welcoming students and I’m certain you would have no trouble whatsoever meeting new people. My d is a current sophomore and continues to meet new people all the time while maintaining a wonderful
group of friends from last year. This year she has become quite close to a current senior
and some freshmen. Keep in mind you will meet kids not only in your dorm but also in classes and as part of a frat or eating house if you join one. My d had met tons of new
people this year in her eating house especially. Davidson may be small but seems to “live” bigger than its size would suggest. If you really like it, one word - apply!
