This might be is a question for current students but I think new students can answer this also. I would like to know how transgender friendly USC student body is. Are students open and accepting about this issue and do not detest having a transgender friend? Are gender neutral restrooms accessible at many lecture buildings?

If you will be at USC for the first time next year, how trans friendly are you? Will you throw stones at any trans students just because of gender identity?

I don't think gay environment is directly related to acceptance level for trans people so please be specific to transgender issues. Thanks~!

I'm coming to USC in the spring and I would be very accepting of everyone, transgendered students included.
I am very interested in the gay environment, and if anyone has any input I would appreciate it!

yea, trans and gay are sometimes thought of separate entities, i'm sure however that there will be accepting people, and there will be some that wouldn't be as polite. But I'm SURE people will not be extremely rude about it =) It IS california haha ^^

i know some of the organizers of such programming, and i think if you were transgender @ USC, you would be in good hands. They, and the LGBT groups at USC have ALOT of events and outreach opportunities to help students integrate.

im going to usc in the fall!
i LOVE trans people(well, all the ones i know). seriously. so much to offer, such interesting experiences.
although i'm part of the lgbt community as well so of course im very accepting

I am not sure how comfortable I would be with someone who is transgender at first, but that is largely because I have never met someone who is. I am going into next year (as are many of these people) with a very open mind and I am very willing to meet new people and get to know their wide range of experiences. So to answer your question: yes, there will probably be people who are unfriendly to transgender people (ignorance breeds hate), but I will not be one of them. I am certain any transgender person would find no difficulty finding someone with whom to share their experiences.

USC is extremely diverse in every respect, and people here respect and value the diversity of the campus. There are also a variety of student groups for people of all ethnic, cultural, religious, and sexual backgrounds.
