Transitioning from Mech E to Systems E

Hi, currently studying Mechanical engineering here at uni, but Systems engineering/information systems have always interested me and I've read that Systems Engineering is mainly a Masters Degree and not all unis offer it undergrad (including mine)

I'm really considering entering grad school to get a Masters along the lines of Systems Engineering, my question is that will it be easy to transition? Will my mech engineering background prepare me well for a job of systems engineering/information systems/system intelligence analysis
Thanks

ME is a very broad overview of many topics, systems included. You’ll probably have one controls class that you have to take. Other than that, if there are some technical electives in systems engineering that you want to take, take those.

I’d recommend trying to find a systems engineering internship or coop during your undergrad. That will probably introduce you to systems engineering in a way no course can. Note that many companies do hire MechEs for their systems engineeirng internships including auto, aero and defense companies.
