Transitioning into Engineering Graduate School without Undegrad Engineering

I’m currently a biochemistry undergrad in my 3rd year. Does anyone know if it is possible to transition into Mechanical Engineering for a masters, specifically M.eng?

A couple things: First, the concept of “M.Eng” differs by school, so it’s difficult to decipher what you mean here. Is this a non-thesis degree?

Second, it is generally possible to transition from other fields into engineering, particularly when they are other STEM fields. You just have to be aware of the fact that you may have to make up some foundational coursework to bring you up to speed.

It is easy to figure out. Look up the requirements for a BS in ME at your school of choice and check off those classes that you have, or will have, completed as part of your current program. Note the ones unchecked and figure that there is a good chance that you will have to complete those prior to entering a MS program. You’ll probably find quite a few unchecked.

You then talk to the ME department at your school of choice and, armed with the above knowledge, discuss what they will require as prerequisites to being admitted into their program.

You won’t get a definitive answer on this or any other board as only the school you are interested in can answer your question.
