Transportation Design

I'm looking for the best school that has a strong and reputable transportation design program. Right now I'm looking into The Art Center School of Design Pasadena, I've been hearing alot about it. Can anyone give some suggestions or some first hand experience about that school? And how I can get accepted???

If you are the best sketch artist you know, and want to dedicate the rest of your next ten years to drawing vehicle exteriors, then transportation sounds like a great fit - and Art Center is the right place to go.

I see.... so is it hard to get accepted at the Art Center???

Art Center is a highly regarded design school, although it does not seem to be that well known in the eastern U.S. -- probably because there are so many good art schools on the East Coast.

Art Center is an extremely selective school, with admission based almost entirely on your portfolio. Also, you should be aware that the average age of students at the school is relatively high -- I don't recall exactly but I think it's around 24 or 25. When my son talked to a rep from the school at National Portfolio Day, she was very friendly and very helpful. She did stress, however, that the school likes its students to have some experience first -- hence the reason why the average age is higher than at most schools. I do know one young lady who did get in directly from high school so it is doable, but she had an awesome portfolio.

My son and I were very impressed with the school and its programs. It is especially strong in transportation design.

Have you also considered University of Cincinnati, which has a phenominal reputation in a number of design areas and also has a strong transportation design program?

Look at University of Connecticut too.
