Hi, I'm about to book my flight, and I've a few questions. Does anyone know how much approximately the taxi fare is from the Manchester airport? The flight times for my airline are very awkward (late at night for arrival, very early in the morning for departure).

Also, I checked the Dartmouth Coach website - for some reason, the Dartmouth coach doesn't run to Manchester airport - it runs only to Logan. Do you think it's a better idea to fly to Logan instead? If so, what are the best ways to get to Dartmouth from Logan/ from Logan to Dartmouth?

I am flying in to Logan next month when I go up for my DOC trip/start of fall term - was going to fly to Manchester but trying to get transportation from there seemed impossible(despite what people said about there being a greyhound bus or “Dartmouth mini-coach” or vt transit or whatever… I couldn’t find any info on those).

So, just this one time, I am flying to Logan and taking the Dartmouth Coach, but after that I hope to catch rides with other students or figure out the greyhound schedule so I can fly in/out of Manchester

The Greyhound website is atrocious. To find the busses that stop at MHT and Hanover, you need to search the Boston - White River Junction schedules and then click on each Schedule # (right-hand column) to see if it stops at MHT and Hanover.

From Logan you can also fly on a small airline called Cape Air to Lebanon NH, about a 10 minute taxi ride to the college, for about $60 each way. I’m sure this would be cheaper than a taxi from Manchester which is over an hour away.

you will have more flexibility flying out of Logan and the Dartmouth Coach stops right in front of the Hanover Inn. At $38 for a one way ticket ($60/round trip) it is cheaper than a taxi out of Lebanon

Sybbie’s right, Dartmouth Coach is the only way to go.

Also there is transportation from manchester to Dartmouth but it is less frequent…it’s run by vermont transit and costs about the same as Dart coach

When my daughter flies to the Manchester Airport she has to take Greyhound to Dartmouth. Unfortunately, the Greyhound website is pretty much useless for that route. (I’ve complained, grrr.) Here’s what I do: Before purchasing her airline ticket, I call Greyhound 1-800-231-2222 to get their schedule for the day of her flight. Just a warning, you’ll have to be patient while you go through their “for states starting with the letter…press…” before getting an actual person on the line. The schedule from Manchester Airport to Hanover is typically something like this:
12:50 AM
11:05 AM
3:05 PM
7:20 PM
Don’t take my word for it though, call and check. The ride takes approx. 1 1/2 hrs., give or take. :)

^ Thanks, that’s very helpful! How do you buy a ticket for that Greyhound ride, though? Apparently you can’t buy a ticket at the bus stop at the manchester airport, but when I called them they said you had to purchase tickets at bus stops!

Glad to help! My daughter has always paid CASH to the driver, but you can also buy the ticket by phone (same number as above) if you call at least 15 days ahead of time. Greyhound will mail you the ticket. I think you can also go to a Greyhound ticket office to make your purchase. There are discounts if you buy ahead of time.

I made my above post after calling Greyhound (so I could correctly answer the question about how to pay Greyhound). I didn’t know because, as I said, my daughter always pays cash at the time of her travel. The ticket agent told me about the different options that I posted.

I called them again just now, this time to buy tickets for one of my daughter’s trips. The ticket agent this time said that you CAN’T BUY TICKETS for that route over the phone. You have to pay cash at the time of travel.
