Hey guys,
I was wondering what transportation I should take from Penn Station to BC for orientation. I know there are a few Amtrak lines, such as South Side or Back Bay. I’ve tried googling and I can’t find any info. I called the school and they gave me two different answers.

So, if someone could help me with which station I should use and then how to get to campus (without a cab would be good, so I can familiarize myself) would be great.

If you are using public transportation to get to BC, the fastest route would be to get off at Back Bay and walk about a block to the green line outbound. From that point, the fastest way would be to take the D line going to Riverside and get off at Reservoir and then take the BC shuttle (which stops right by the station) to campus. If you want an easier route, take the B line to Boston College and get off at the last stop. That takes about 20 minutes longer, though.

I’d actually recommend taking the B-Line. The BC bus runs infrequently over the summer and I believe all routes stop at 4/5PM on Weekdays during this time.

The B-Line drops you off right in front of campus.

nesh, thanks, i checked the schedule and i just missed one of the times.

random: do you know how long this would take? when i called the school they said to do this: from south station take the red line to park st. then transfer to the green line (B train) to the BC stop and then walk

I’m also going to have a suitcase, do you think it would make sense to take a cab from the BC stop? On google it says walking time is 10 minutes, but I know it’s kind of up hill.

From Park St to the BC stop, it’s roughly 45-50 minutes. I take it everyday to work because I still live in the area for the summer.

You won’t need a cab from the BC stop. It literally stops right across the street from main gate. Then, you walk across the street to sign in for orientation. That’s a 5-minute walk because check-in is in Lower, I believe. Then, you’ll drop off your luggage in your orientation suite. That’s directly near where you check in.

You won’t have any trouble with your luggage.

iMac15 – Bring comfortable shoes. I saw some serious flip-flop staggering going on when I was there for orientation. The campus has lots of stairs and hills.

Upside: Rock-hard glutes after 4 years. (I hope)
