Transportation on campus?

So, bob went and sprained his ankle yesterday and has an appointment at the health center today to get it looked at.

Is there any transportation available to get from the dorms to the Ashe Health Center since he's having trouble getting around?

Thanks!

At Cal, they have an on campus service you could call and they’ll pick you up in one of their little electric golf carts and take you from one point to another. That’s what my son used his first year when he sprained his ankle.

Although I don’t think they have the same thing at UCLA (i’ve seen small access buses at UCLA though), I suggest you try contacting the following link:

•Parking and Transportation - Disabilities Services
Daytime and evening campus transportation for students with either temporary or permanent disabilities

I don’t know the website, but yes, there is designated transportation for disabled students. I see the small bus everyday when I walk to class. Hopefully the email/phone ucla77 gave you will help

Just get one of his friends to stash him in a laundry cart, walk him to the top of Bruin Walk, and give a little push down the hill. The momentum should be sufficient to get him past Pauley at the very least, and it’s just a few hundred feet to Ashe from there.

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I’m not sure about the laundry cart idea though because he’s likely to end up with a break instead of a sprain.
I’ll have him check out the services for temporary disabled students.

Thanks!

OSD (Office for students with disabilities) runs a bus for students, sprained ankle will work. A few of my friends have been drivers, they’re awesome. You may need a doctor’s note, but try calling the office and you can set up pick ups etc.
