When I book, I give them my e-mail but his cell #. You receive an e-mail with a survey as soon as they are dropped off, so you know they have made it to their destination.
Ds has also Ubered a time or two. Not sure how the cost compares.
It should be pretty simple to take CalTrain to and from SFO. There’s a stop right on the outskirts of campus. You need to use BART from airport to CalTrain, but I think that’s a pretty quick and painless process.
My son flew in and out of SJC while he was at Stanford. He often took the CalTrain and then a bus to the airport–if he got back too late for the CalTrain, he took an Uber from the airport instead. It was pretty painless and not terribly expensive, if I remember correctly.
My D always flies thru San Jose airport-- there is a free airport bus/flyer that takes her to the Santa Clara Caltrain station – then from the Palo Alto station, she takes the free Shuttle ( marguerite I believe it’s called) to her dorm. she has the schedule of the Caltrain on her phone – so the only cost is the caltrain ( much cheaper that uber or supershuttle)!
Thanks to everyone for contributing. I booked the $$$ Thanksgiving flights!!
Flying out of SJC and returning to SFO.
From above comments, it sounds like, getting to SJC, she can either taking Uber or Caltrain (Marguerite to Palo Alto Caltrain Station to Santa Clara Station to airport bus).
From SFO, Super Shuttle has a $25 rate to Campus (the rate is for picking up multiple riders).
