Hi, is there a taxi/bus/shuttle that connects the main campus and the downtown area near the city's main bus terminal? I will be taking a Greyhound from NJ to pittsburgh, and I was wondering whether there is such a transportation. If yes, how much do you think it will cost, approximately?

Yes there are buses and taxis; just like with every city in the United States of America.
Why not go to greyhound.com and check this out yourself?

you can take port authority (pittsburgh public transportation) from downtown to the main campus. all the 61s go to the main campus. (or grab any bus that says it's heading to oakland). the bus stops in front of warner hall, which is where the admissions office is (i think)
about the main bus terminal, you should check greyhound.com

ooh...have fun with the greyhound. The terminal is in a temporary location which makes things a little trickier. I looked on the PAT (bus) website, and it doens't look like there are any direct trips. Try it yourself:

type in Forbes ave and Morewood Ave as your destination.

Also, it's about a $7 taxi fare, and there should be some there, if not there are phones in there to call them and they come real quick. (I beleive the bus is $1.25...it's free for college ID holders).
