I wanted to let anyone interested in Holy Cross, know how wonderful their transportation off campus is. My daughter called me last night and mentoned that when she talks to her old high school friends who are now on various campus's, LAC's, Ivies, state schools, no one has the opportunities to get off campus as she does. Holy Cross in that way, does a wonderful job. Just an FYI to anyone interested.

Free taxi service within 15 minutes of campus. The SGA also provides weekend shuttle service to and from the following locations: Boston, Providence, The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley, Solomon Pond Mall and Price Chopper supermarket. If you're out late, try the "Night Rider" van service — it shuttles students on and off campus between 10 p.m. — 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

All of this is FREE. They also have a shuttle to Walmart which she has taken.

I know this might not tip the scales for some, but when my son visited Wheaton and Conn College, UConn, the list is long, most didn't provide any or much service off campus and he thought he'd go crazy isolated everyday. Some charged. My daughter took it for granted until she talked to other students and realized how lucky she was.

Thanks for that information Debruns!
That’s so awesome! I’m glad that they have shuttles to Boston because I know quite a lot of friends/aquaintances who are going to be in Boston for college so it’ll be nice to visit them every so often. Plus, I hear that Worcester isn’t that great of a city, so it’d be nice to escape once in a while. Afterall, I hear the academics are rigorous so I think I’ll definitely take those shuttles out on the weekends as a way to encourage myself to work hard and use those adventures as a treat :)

I think my parents and I have made a final decision and I’m probably going to be attending here this fall. Really excited! :D

Good luck, it’s a great school and they do the orientations very well. I know Mulledy has great freshman dorms, the largest I think, if you are lucky there. I was also impressed with her floor, clean, large rooms, built-in dressers, closet, bookcase, large windows, she was very comfortable.

Did you go to Accepted Students Day with your daughter?
If you remember, how was it? Do they give tours? Are we allowed to leave earlier? Are we allowed to arrive later? I think my family and I are planning to skip Mass. My family and I aren’t very religious and they were pretty surprised at how long the whole day will be haha (9:30 - 4:30+)

We did a June orientation (the second one? ) and then of course she did one in August. I think I remember students coming at differnet times. They have a VERY thorough orientation, a bit long.

I don’t think we did the accepted students day…just the June one. She had gone for a day earlier in the year and had a tour.

When is accepted student day?

Ohhh, okay. Thank you!
