Just wondering, how do u get to Tufts via the subway (or "T"). Obviously u get off at the harvard stop if u want to get to harvard but which one do u need to get off at to reach tufts?

Davis Square on the Red Line.

ooOOo, thank you!

And it actually says Tufts University all over the place at the Davis Square stop so you really can't miss it. Plus, it's the previous to last stop on the red line so you can't pass it by too much, lol :)

Pretty soon the Green Line will be extended right to Tufts!

how long will that take?

Are you serious? That is fantastic!

My "pretty soon" was somewhat inaccurate. As far as I know, the plan to extend the Green Line to Tufts is a go ahead, but there is much controversy over how much further it will go into Medford. The city is very split on this and so I don't know whether or not they will begin construction on the accepted portion before they have reached a decision. Hopefully they will, though.
Once they do begin it should not take too long as it is my understanding that they are constructing the extension along a preexisting commuter rail line.

I understand that the earliest the Green Line extension would be in place is 2008.

this article states that the project would be completed as late as 2014. It also states that the extension is still undergoing debate.

There are already tracks up College Avenue, so it wouldn't be THAT hard, but it's Boston, and transportation projects take forever here, so I wouldn't expect it to be done on time.

I guess I stand corrected

Sorry, that was just me as a cynical Bostonian. I hope it happens soon!

yeah, but as positive as i am, there is some truth to it. when we went to Boston freshman year for a choir trip, the whole place was under construction. When i went back this year for the admitted students' weekend, it still looked like nothing had changed in the past four years :)
