Transportation

I apologize if this threads already been created. I won't have a car at school this summer and may need to come home for a weekend. I live in South Florida. What is the best way to travel? I've checked Amtrak, which seems like ok prices, and Greyhound, which is way more. Does anyone else know of any other transportation services?

You will probably meet some new friends that are from South Florida. Share the cost of gas and I’m sure they would be happy to drive.

Yes, meet people! D is OOS and met so many people during Summer B term with cars that she was invited and went to Tampa, Clearwater, Boca Raton, Miami and Cocoa Beach on various weekends over the summer. Definately ask around and offer to help pay gas.

This private busline is for college kids has services to FSU, UF and UCF.

They are currently updating their websites but call them and ask where the UCF pick-up is. I know many kids who use them. They have a bunch of set drop-off/pick-up spots on the Turnpike. They drop off in South Florida at the Turnpike service plaza (Pompano Beach, near Atlantic Blvd) but also have a Miami drop off.

When I was in college … many cough, cough years ago … we had a ride board where folks could post “need a ride/will give a ride to” messages. Any digital equivalent, i.e. UCF facebook?

zebes

Thanks all! Kind of slipped my mind that I could just easily meet people who live down here haha. I just wanted a backup incase I went home a weekend no one else was heading home. And I’ll try to find out about the facebook board
