Trasnfering Need Advice

<p>Hello, I have a 3.456 GPA with 57 hours taken, I'm finishing the Spring 2011 semester, and hopefully can make it a 3.5, I go to my local CC and want to transfer to UT Austin, or any other major university in Texas. I want to apply to engineering, but is it pointless should I apply to Natural Sciences and Liberal Arts than transfer Internally to Engineering? What do you think, also what are my chances to go to UT Austin with a 3.456 any insight would be appreciated.</p>
