<p>Hi! I’m an incoming freshman at the University of Alabama who is going to be coming in on the 30th of May for Bama Bound at around 12:30PM local time, and leaving at 2:30PM on the 2nd of June. </p>
<p>I was wondering how other students are managing to travel from Birmingham International Airport to the University of Alabama because public transportation in Alabama seems to be nonexistent. I found information for Greyhound buses that are traveling to and from the respective cities, but I am not sure how to get to the Greyhound station from the airport (Google Maps estimates an hour and a half walk, which is a bit much given the temperature that I would imagine the area would be at in late May/early June).</p>
<p>Are there any solutions or other reasonably priced means of transportation to and from the university? Does anybody know of any carpools going to and from the airport (I’d be willing to more than chip in for gas)?</p>
<p>Did you go to thread “Airport Shuttle - 5/30” there are other students also attending that same session. You may all be able to combine transportation. I know that it’s worked out fine for my son even if there’s a little wait time at the airport for the next student’s arrival. Share the costs. Also nice to get to meet other students. </p>
