Travel from New Orleans

I believe there are directions from O'Hare on the school's website, but we normally fly in to Midway using Southwest. A direct flight. Yea!

How far is it from Midwest to UIUC?

Since it seems to be more south than Chicago, would there be a closer airport to fly through?

Also, is there an Amtrak station near campus?

Thanks!

Indianapolis is the closest major airport to fly through, and would be about an hour and 45 min drive time to get from Indy to Champaign. I am not 100% how far Midway is, but if you wanted to avoid Chicago, St. Louis would be an option, which would be about a 3 hour drive from the airport, which is still probably better than getting to Champaign from O’Hare, but not from Midway.

I know Southwest flies into Indy, so I would definitely look into that if I were you.

Hey, we like Chicago. This will be an excuse to go there. Just don’t want to go to O’Hare.

While I’m on the subject, how is the weather there as compared to Chicago?

It isn’t quite as extreme as Chicago in the winter, but it is windier, which helps make up for the slightly warmer temperatures. Probably the windiest, noncoastal place I have ever been in my life.
