So I just received the email indicating that Chicago would pay for my trip to the April Overnights and I did some research and found this thread:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-chicago/676717-travel-grant.html?

I am a minority, I have never visited the school, not many people have gone to Chicago from my school in recent years, and I have applied for Financial Aid.

So my question would be, does this have any indication towards the amount of aid I could be receiving?

Brabble- we do award a limited number of travel grants for students like yourself every year, so we hope to see you in April! But no, the travel grant has nothing to do with your actual financial aid package- while we have identified you as a student who may need assistance to cover the cost of visiting, the Office of College Aid and the Admissions office are separate, and you will only be able to gauge what your aid package looks like or will look like once you hear a final decision from them.
