I grew up on the gulf coast [texas, louisiana, mississippi, alabama, florida] so i’ve been a lot of places in those states.
when we moved we took a road trip instead of flying, through tennessee, arkansas, missouri, kansas, colorado, wyoming and montana, so i’ve seen some of the best of those states. other than that… well, i live in alberta so i’ve seen plenty of the mountains [in my grandma’s words “that was more beautiful than the birth of my own child”]. I’ve seen plenty of new hampshire and massachusetts [NOT just boston and cambridge, but plenty of other little towns too]. unfortunately, those are the only states i’ve been to [not counting airports].

Hahaha. Well, the thing is that due to my dad’s job, I’ve had to move every 2-3 years. So, during all the moving, you tend to meet other kids who are going through the same thing. So, right now I probably know someone in every continent (aghh, with the exception of antarctica). :)

@JoshByron—AH I’m so jealous!! I actually wouldn’t mind moving all the time. Lived in the same place since I was 2, sigh…

More too if you could count flyover states.

I’ve been to numerous states, so I don’t really want to post all of the names.

I have been all over the Caribbean multiple times, specifically parts of Mexico and all around Jamaica. Though I’ve been to other countries to.

Hopefully my next trip will be to Europe. My parents have no will to go there though, so I may just go do a summer program overseas or something. They are only interested in Ireland, which seems nice, but sounds like a bore to me.

My family actually has a family friend who knows the president of Honduras, at least I think it’s Honduras. It may be Nicaragua. Anyways, they went on a vacation there last year and had a very presidential treatment. Armed guards following them around, private chefs trained for outdoor cooking, and caravans of furniture. Sounds right out of a movie. Too bad I didn’t get to go.

^Hahaha, wow, something similar happened to me. I’m currently interning at USAID in Honduras, and my job was to help out the embassy prepare for it’s 4th of July Party. And wow, when the president came in…it was crazy - there were about 50 friggin guards patroling the place, and about 15 minutes before the president came in a bomb squad came in and raided the place, they also had dogs sniffing around for anything suspicious. It was crazy :D

Yeah, again not sure of the country, but sounds right.

When they were on the trip the couple we knew had to act the part too. Apparently the cooks and so forth considered the Americans in the party to be upper-class because of their connections with the president (sort of like royal families one can say, the couple in America is considered upper-middle class). So it wasn’t a good idea for the Americans to sit or chat with the chefs at meals or casually because it wasn’t dignified. It was pretty funny because our friend is definitely not snobby, first thing she did when she got back was add all the staff on Facebook.

@BryDeeC-I loved Seattle and NYC! I liked D.C. fine, not a huge LA fan, though. When I tell most people that they’re like mind blown haha I want to study abroad too! I’d love to study in Africa, Europe, South America, or China. Hahaha that sure narrows it down…

@weeds526-I like Puerto Vallerta! Not as much as I loved Mazatlan, but it’s quite nice.

@Coste-Very cool, about the Honduras thing! I know the feeling-my parents went to the Final Four (college basketball) in Detroit last year, and I didn’t get to go. And they’re going to Hawaii this year-and I’m not invited…ugh haha

^^Haha, yea I was kind of young when I went to LA, so I’m not sure how much I liked it. I don’t think I hated it, but it wasn’t my most favorite place either.

Right, I went to some sketchy areas, so I feel like it’s not cool to just kind of label “I don’t like LA” but I don’t really feel like I’d like it too much

I love travelling. I’ve tackled 18 countries so far (which is sadly, absolutely nothing I’m working on getting my number up.)
And studied or interned for a prolonged time in three: China, Italy, and Mexico.

Working in Mexico was the most fun though. There was some student program where you worked as a tour guide for tourists (mainly cruise ship tourists) and it wa a blast.

I’ve visited/lived in…I don’t know how many states. But I love my city (NYC) the best.

^ Hahaha, my mom said she HATED LA when she visited…but she also says she was only able to see the…more ghetto side of LA, so that might have been why Same with my aunt, actually. She spent a semester in UCBerkeley and hated it SO much (she said it was too ghetto) so she transferred out.

Ahhh, I also forgot ALL about North Dakota :D

@RootbeerWriter, are you kidding?! You’ve been to so much cooler places then I have :(
